What Visiting Teams Can Expect
- The UCSB Athletic Training staff operates as a neutral medical resource and provides equal care to both home and visiting teams.
- Certified Athletic Training staff will be available at least 30 minutes prior to the start of competition to assist with pre-game needs.
- For tournaments appointments may be scheduled in advance by contacting our Head ATC Kelly Walsh through email (kewalsh@ucsb.edu).
- Our team provides a range of services, including athletic taping, wound care, injury evaluation, concussion assessment, and more.
- For more information on our services refer to the Services Provided section here.
Expectations for Visiting Teams
- We are happy to assist if your team runs low on basic medical supplies; however, all teams are expected to travel with their own fully stocked medical kit.
- Water will be available on-site. UCSB is a designated green campus, so please bring reusable water bottles to help reduce waste.
On-Field Emergency Procedures
- In the event of an on-field emergency, our staff will enter the field when it is safe to do so and perform an immediate evaluation.
- All members of our staff are First Aid and Emergency Cardiac Care certified, and trained to manage athletic emergencies.
- When necessary, athletic training staff will contact local emergency medical services to ensure the safety and proper care of the injured athlete.
