We Are Back!!

We are excited to announce that we have received University approval to once again offer our safe, engaging, and fully outdoor beach and aquatic programs. We are confident in our ability to offer the UCSB Surf & Kayak Camp, Campus Pt. While we cannot wait to serve our community this summer, we will not offer the UCSB Summer Day Camp in 2021. The UCSB Department of Recreation is committed to the health and well-being of each camper, staff, and community member. Given the pace of the UCSB campus reopening and an attempt to limit campus visitors this summer, we have determined that the most responsible option for our campers and staff is to not offer this program in 2021. The UCSB Department of Recreation has been an integral part of the community for the past 40 years, serving thousands of youth annually. We know that not offering the Summer Day Camp will come as a disappointment to our community, but we truly believe this is the safest decision for our community and we look forward to offering this program again in 2022. In the meantime, we hope to see our beloved campers and families in our beach and aquatic programs this summer.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this past year and moving forward. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at camps@recreation.ucsb.edu. Thank you and stay healthy!
