Women’s Soccer - 2023 Fall Tryouts
Tryouts are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday during the first week of school (September 26, 27 & 29) from 4-6 on Rec Cen Fields #2 and #4. New/Incoming players will tryout on Tuesday, Sept 26th and Wednesday, Sept 27th. Those new/incoming players that make the 1st cuts will continue on to tryout on Friday, Sept 29th. Those players who make the team will have a mandatory team meeting on Saturday, Sept 30th from 10am-1pm. We will have a booth at Rec Fest at the Rec Cen, but it’s usually on the second day of tryouts. For this reason, it’s very important to contact our team rep, Aiko Hirose, before school starts so you can receive your tryout packet.
Our season begins the first weekend of fall quarter, so we select new players right away. Fall 2023 practices take place Mon/Wed/Fri beginning Monday, Oct 2nd. Practice time is TBD. If you are unable to make the tryouts in fall, we have open practices during spring quarter.
Dues ~ since we are a club sport we do have player dues. Dues for the fall quarter usually average about $700. This fee covers such items as: WCSA league dues, transportation to league games, UCSB sport club dues, referees, player sweats, practice gear, coaches, Regionals and Nationals entry fees, to name just a few items. Nationals travel expenses are not included in dues. This is where our fundraising efforts come into play. Dues for Winter and Spring Quarter average about $425 per quarter to cover travel to tournaments and league play.
We understand that some players will also be participating in Sorority Rush and there might be some conflicts. If you are considering rushing just let us know when you email us for your tryout packet so we can start working with you in regards to conflicts.
